Iconic Malaysian English language indie band SevenCollar T-Shirt unveil their groundbreaking local music video for their latest release “Lines” from their upcoming fourth album.
The band which was formed in 1997 by core members Saiful Ridzuan (vocals/guitar), Muhammad (guitar), Adil Ali (drums) and Sim Keng Lee (bass), rose to fame with their second album “Drones” in 2004, which was considered one of the most significant albums in the local music industry. It was nominated in the Best English Album category at Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) in 2005. Their third “The Great Battle”, released in 2009, also received critical acclaim and also fan appreciation, and earned the band two AIM nominations in 2010 for Best English Album and Best Album Cover. Their debut album in 2002 was “Freeway, Dreaming & Broke”.
Produced by Jeff Little, ‘Lines’ which is released by Laguna Music, is a mellow and mature record with a sophisticated sound, that is a rapturous departure from their previous works. Their impressive new music video for the single features a futuristic sci-fi element with cinematic visuals. It was directed by Jordan Suleiman (winner of Best Music Video for Pete Teo at AIM) and Belle Aziz a.k.a. Ícara. Jordan describes himself as a full spectrum artist, film director, visual effects soldier and musician while Belle is a music video director, painter and art enthusiast, and considers herself as a moonchild.
Tungku Jasshwa from Creative Catalyst was responsible for the photographic direction while the fantastic costume for the lead character played by Hannah Hashim was designed by Tommy Mansur.
The highly anticipated fourth album, which will showcase the band’s earnestness and their unbridled evolution over the past two decades, is slated to be released in early 2018.
